Principal Dentist – practicing history
David Burton (GDC no. 53297) qualified from Guys Hospital in 1979 with BDS and LDS, also gaining the David Frank Sturdee prize in prosthetics.
Particular interests include endodontics & advanced restorative work. Dr Burton is a member of the British Dental Association, the British Endodontic Society, the British Society Of Periodontology, and is registered with the General Dental Council.
From 1986 to 1999 he owned private practices in Devonshire Place and Harley Street, gaining valuable knowledge and skills of advanced techniques and excellence in dentistry. Our Leatherhead practice was established in 1997 to compliment the London practice, and as this grew finally a complete move was made to the Crescent. |
Marishka Clothier. (GDC no. 121345) Our fully qualified and registered Dental Nurse Qualified 2003 Guys Hospital with National Certificate of Dental Nursing.
Marishka has recently married and enjoys exciting pursuits which have included swimming with dolphins and sky-diving. |

Annie Seamans is the other half of the reception team, and has also had extensive reception experience. She is a keen gardener in her spare time, and with her husband loves to escape to their sea front flat in Poole at weekends where they enjoy walking in and around the area. She has many grandchildren which keep her busy second time around. |
| Teresa Dupay, one of our receptionists who is always ready to welcome you to the practice and help with any problems. She has had many years experience running her own nutrition business. She is a keen runner and recently completed the London Marathon in a very respectable time. Teresa enjoys working with people and is a very enthusiastic recent addition to our team. |

The Periodontal Team
Richard Snoad MSc FDS RCS BDS MGDS RCS (GDC no. 54159) is our part-time GDC Registered Specialist in Periodontics.
Richard qualified as a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Dundee University in 1980. He gained his Membership in General Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1992 and his MSc (with Distinction) in Periodontology from the Eastman Dental Institute (University of London) in 1996. |

Cathy (GDC no. 3020) qualified from Birmingham in Dental Hygiene in 1985 is one of our part-time hygienists. She has been with us for many years, loves her profession and enjoys working with our patients. She is married, and has two children, and lives locally. |
Jessie Bignell E.D.H. & National Certificate Of Dental Nursing.
Jessie (GDC no. 6215) qualified from Edinburgh in Dental Hygiene in 2003, and also holds a certificate in dental radiography.
Jessie is also a semi-professional salsa dancer and teaches and performs all over the UK. |

According to a new study published by the Journal of Periodontology there is a definite link between periodontal (gum) bacteria and heart disease. Our hygienists work in consultation with the dentists to provide a first class oral hygiene service. Their aim is to provide you with the skills you need to keep healthy teeth and gums for life. All are committed to continuing professional development.
 Crescent Dental Practice
The Crescent Dental Practice was established in 1997, during building, patient safety and comfort was paramount with lead lining incorporated into the walls between the surgeries and the waiting room.
The waiting room has been designed to be light, airy, comfortable and relaxing.
The whole practice is at ground floor level allowing easy access for all.
Over the years there has been a substantial investment in practice equipment for the benefit of our patients. The practice boasts air conditioning, full computerisation, intra-oral camera and digital photography, and many other high ‘tech’ pieces of equipment.
There has been recent refurbishment of the waiting room with new flooring and furniture.
Services Offered
Services offered at the practice include high quality crown and bridge work, inlays and porcelain veneers. We use gold or bonded porcelain or all-ceramic (metal-free) restorations. Advanced ceramic work, cosmetic ‘white’ fillings, and modern tooth whitening techniques. Endodontic and periodontal treatment and support, and many preventive techniques.
Airbrasion.
We use the PrepStart airbrasion system for ‘no drill’ fillings if requested and appropriate. A stream of air and minute particles gently removes damaged tooth structure allowing restoration with modern bonding techniques, without using the drill, and in many cases without needing an injection.
Implants
Implants are now a major feature of tooth replacement options and in many cases an implant would be the primary treatment of choice. We work with one of Europe’s leading implant clinics, who have treated hundreds of patients over the years, and who are specialists trained in all the latest implant replacement techniques. Once they have used their experience to fix the implant, we use our experience to provide the high quality cosmetic ‘tooth’.
